Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Refund and Exchange Policy
The Conditions of Attendance provide the circumstances under which refunds or exchanges will be offered by Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Corporation (“we”) to purchasers of tickets (“you”) to the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games (“Games”). We have set out the following information in further detail to ensure that you are able to understand easily the policy in relation to refunds and exchanges.
Cancellation of Session or Games
If a session is cancelled and not rescheduled, or the Games are cancelled, we will refund the face value of the ticket.
Change of date or venue
If a session is rescheduled to another date or venue, we will offer you the opportunity to exchange the ticket for a ticket of the same or lower face value to the rescheduled session or to an alternative event, subject to availability. If these options are not acceptable to you, we will refund the face value of the ticket.
Change of start time of session
If we re-schedule the start time of a session for which you have purchased a ticket by more than 2 hours from the start time advertised when you purchased your ticket, we will offer you an exchange (subject to availability) or a refund for the face value of the ticket. This does not include a situation where there is an un-scheduled delay to a scheduled start.
When are refunds and exchanges not offered?
Refunds and exchanges are not available:
If after a session has started it is cancelled for any reason, including due to inclement weather.
If there is a change to the session such as which participants are competing in it, which specific events are included within the session, or a session runs for a shorter or longer period of time than originally advertised. These are all matters which may change between the time when you purchased your ticket, and the time the Games are held.
If you experience a change in your personal circumstances or you change your mind.
What happens if I believe I have special circumstances?
In addition to the above, if you believe you have a valid enquiry in relation to a request for a refund or exchange, please write to Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Customer Service, P.O. Box 5206, South Melbourne, Victoria 3205 to have your request considered on an individual basis. We will confirm if a refund or exchange is available.
In the event that the above policy has not otherwise dealt with a matter appropriately, we naturally are committed to complying with all laws. This means that if you are entitled to a refund or exchange under the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cth), Fair Trading Act 1999 (Vic) or any other relevant legislation for any reason, we will ensure that you receive it.
How do I find out about changes to dates, venues or start times of a session?
All brochures, guides, schedules and tickets are published or printed with the most up to date information available at the time.
We will ensure that all changes are published on the official Games website at www.melbourne2006.com.au.
