Injuries Jade pulled out of the 50m breaststroke in the New South Wales titles in December 2005 due to a groin injury. She has suffered from occasional groin problems in the last few years, and returned to the AIS to seek medical treatment as soon as she felt a twinge during the warm-up of the event.

Jade confirmed her status as the world's fastest female breaststroker with her world record breaking victory in the 50m at the 2005 World Championships in Montreal.

Jade represented Australia at the 2004 Oceania Championships less than 18 months after coming out of a premature retirement to join the AIS program.

She also finished second in the 50m and third in the 100m breaststroke at the 2005 Australian Short Course Championships.
