Other | Matthew was a 2000 graduate of I.E Weldon Secondary High School where he swam under coach Iain McDonald.
He has been a swim coach and a soccer camp counsellor and he enjoys snowboarding, listening to music and spending time at the beach.
He competed in the 2000 Maritime Life Olympics in Montreal Canada, where he took third place in the 50m Freestyle, tied for ninth in the 100m Backstroke and placed 11th in the 100m Freestyle. He was also a member of the Canadian Junior National Team.
