Other Anna lists being a finalist at the South Island Secondary Schools (1999) and making the NZ Under 21 squad as highlights in her netball career.

She was also the first national volleyball representative from her hometown as well.

She can lay claim to being the first Silver Fern out of Karamea, which is a remote farming community on the South Island's West Coast.

She grabbed the attention of the netball world when she moved to Otago to study a degree in physiotherapy, and came under the wing of New Zealand coaching legend Lois Muir in the Rebels' stable.

Long-limbed Anna has flourished since joining the Silver Ferns in 2002 with her exceptional elevation and hunger for the ball - which makes her a natural defender.
