Other | Alex was named the 1999 Olympian of the Year by the Olympic Council of Malaysia, for his effort of winning Gold in the 100m Backstroke at the Asia Games that year, breaking the games record with a time of 55.53.
Alex also enjoys reading, listening to music, watching television and movies.
Alex also recieved the John Hancock Athlete of the Games Award for his performance at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, again from the Olympic council of Malaysia.
He was educated at the University of California at Berkley, California, USA.
In 2003 Alex made the final at the Barcelona World Swimming Championships, the first Malaysian Ever to do so. |
