There will be stayers and sprinters, those who favour wet or dry tracks and plenty of race favourites when Australia’s sporting heroes strut their stuff in the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Celebrity Parade on Carlton Draught Caulfield Guineas Day, Saturday 8 October 2005.

The Classic Caulfield Fashion Pavilion will be the venue to get close to the action and witness some of the nation’s hottest athletes as you’ve never seen them before.

The Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Celebrity Parade is a key feature of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games’ involvement during the Caulfield Cup Carnival. Other major activities include:
  • Celebrity autographs available with athletes at the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games marquee located in the Fashions Precinct
  • Racegoers will have the chance to win their own Commonwealth Games MCG Superbox for an athletics session for up to 12 people, including hospitality. Entries will be taken over all three days of the Carlton Draught Caulfield Cup Carnival at the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games marquee. Be sure to visit to get in your entry! The lucky winner will be drawn on Carlton Draught Caulfield Cup Day.
  • Winner of The Chadstone Fashion Stakes and Winner of Classic Caulfield’s Spring Designer Award will receive premium tickets to attend the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony.
Glamorous swimming sensation, Giaan Rooney, said she was thrilled to be involved in such a prestigious event. “Living in Melbourne, I know how integral the Spring Racing Carnival – and Caulfield in particular – is to this city’s sporting calendar, and in fact to the whole of Australia,” Giaan said. “It will be fantastic for all the athletes to hit the catwalk and have a bit of fun in the lead up to what will be the most sensational Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games!”
