The last day of competition at Melbourne 2006 sees a total of 19 gold medals on offer to competitors.

Squash features its Mixed, Men’s and Women’s Doubles Finals to be held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatics Centre, as the Table Tennis competition wraps up its Singles competition with bronze and gold medal matches at the same venue.

The highly anticipated finale to competition at the Games—the Australia versus New Zealand Netball Final—is ready to hold centre stage later this afternoon, whilst England and Jamaica will play-off in the bronze medal match.

The Melbourne Exhibition Centre will play host to the Singles and Doubles Finals of Badminton today for both Men and Women, as the Women’s Apparatus Final in the Rhythmic Gymnastics is decided at Rod Laver Arena.

Melbourne’s roads will be alive and kicking as the Men’s and Women’s Cycling Road Races are run and won in the precinct surrounding the Royal Botanical Gardens.

After yesterday’s gold medal performance from the Australian Hockeyroos, the Men’s side, the Kookaburras, is seeking to emulate their counterparts in the gold-medal match against Pakistan at the State Netball and Hockey Centre.

The Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games will then officially close this evening in what will be a spectacular celebration of life, sport and the arts in a fitting culmination of the staging of the 18th Commonwealth Games.
