Day one highlights include the commencement of the Swimming competition with four finals being contested in the evening session. Track Cycling also begins, featuring three finals on the opening night of competition. Preliminary competition in the team events gets underway which includes Basketball, Hockey, Rugby 7s and Men’s Artistic Gymnastics.

The first gold medal of the Games will be decided in Weightlifting in the Women’s 48kg competition at around 2pm.
