Sing for Water
From Australia
Harnessing the power of the collective voice
This remarkable international project celebrates the power and beauty of the collective voice, while making a significant impact on the lives of those without water. It has brought together community choirs and children from across Melbourne, creating two stunning mass choir concerts:
Children Sing for Water
and
Sing for Water
.
Children Sing For Water
is led by the unique South African singer, songwriter and musician, Valanga Khoza, with Kutcha Edwards, Angela Costi, Viki King and Andrea Watson. During the concert, 500 children will explore the story of water through their own poetry, rap, drumming and animations, plus they perform original and traditional songs from countries around the world, including South Africa, Corsica, Greece and Australia.
Led by Kavisha Mazzella, the extraordinarily talented singer and composer,
Sing for Water's
adult choir will perform haunting and celebratory songs from around the world; the concert will feature many guest artists, including Paul Kelly, and Helen Chadwick who initiated
Sing for Water
in London in 2002.
Sing for Water Melbourne
is raising funds for clean water and sanitation projects in East Timor delivered through WaterAid Australia in partnership with Plan Australia.
