CAE/NGV Education and Community Involvement Program

The Centre for Adult Education (CAE) and the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) have devised an education and community involvement program for Festival Melbourne2006. The program of more than 75 activities will be free to the public. Activities include:

walking tours exploring Melbournes architecture, public sculpture and indigenous art;
public talks on the history of the Commonwealth Games, Commonwealth ideals and artists of the Commonwealth;
conversations with contemporary artists and arts professionals about their practice and interpretation of historical, cultural and artistic aspects of the Commonwealth;
workshops at CAE on print making, animation, drawing and textiles
floor talks exploring some of the exhibitions with curators and artists at the NGV;
family fun activities at the NGV including free art making activities, demonstrations, children’s trails, films and live music.
